- Crisp and interactive dashboards that make it easy for anyone to see and understand data
- Institution-wide view with multiple filters to personalize data by subaccount, time period or course
- Power to drill down to see or export details and link to details or courses within Canvas

- Where should we target interventions across our campus to improve Canvas adoption?
- Which best practices can we learn from courses that effectively use Canvas features?

Feature Option/Account Setting
"Admin Analytics" is a Feature Option at the account level, which is set to OFF by default.
You can set this Feature Option to OFF, unlocked to allow sub-accounts to use it. To make it unavailable in your instance, set the Feature Option to OFF, locked.
If you want to make this optional for sub-accounts admins, use the ON, unlocked setting, and to enforce this Feature Option for sub-account admins, use the ON, locked setting.
When this Feature Option is ON, Root account admins will have access to Admin Analytics. It will show up as a menu item in the left navigation of your Admin space in Canvas.
Sub-account admins will have access to Admin Analytics for their sub-account if the Feature Option is ON and the sub-account admin role has both of the following permissions enabled:
- Grades - view all grades
- Analytics - view pages

Account-Level Features
Admin Analytics includes:
- Three new dashboards: Overview, Course, and Student
- Multiple filters that enable users to refine charts to the level of appropriate detail for their role
- Comparison of course status (unpublished, published with or without activity, deleted, concluded)
- Trends in average grade distribution
- Comparison of Canvas feature use across courses and trends in feature usage over time
- Charts displaying student averages, submissions status breakdown, and student details
- Power to drill down and link directly to a Canvas course from the dashboard
Filters
View the data that is most important for your role. Use the filters to view specific subaccounts, terms, instructors or courses.
You can select multiple options within a filter, for example, multiple subaccounts. You can also create compound filters by selecting multiple subaccounts and terms. Filters update dynamically, so if you select a subaccount, you will only see courses related to that subaccount in the courses filter.

- Are teachers adopting Canvas in their courses?
- What percent of students are active in Canvas?
Course Dashboard
The Course dashboard surfaces data about Canvas course success, so admins can ask and answer questions such as:
- Which Canvas features are most or least used in Canvas courses?
- Which best practices can we learn from courses that effectively use Canvas features to improve the student learning experience and outcomes?
- Which courses have low average scores?
- Which courses have low activity?
Student Dashboard
