How do I copy a quiz to another course?

How do I copy a quiz to another course?

As an instructor, you can copy individual quizzes in one course directly into another course in which you are enrolled. You can also send quizzes to other instructors at your institution. When you copy a quiz, any assets within that quiz (images, files, etc.) will be included in your quiz copy.

Notes:

  • To share course content, you must have the Course Content - add / edit / delete permission enabled.
  • Shared content does not count against course or user quotas.
  • If you copy the same quiz to the same course more than once, the quiz you previously copied will be overwritten with the newly copied quiz.

Can I modify a copied quiz in Course B without it affecting Course A? I think that will work, but I'm a newbie and trying to learn and make things happen all at once.

Also, I don't see the Duplicate option on the Options menu. Is that an institution/district setting that should be changed?

@EleanorWallace,

Making modifications to the quiz copy shouldn't affect the original quiz. If you cannot see the duplicate option in your course, you may want to reach out to your school or district to see if that is something they have somehow restricted.

I have copied a quiz from a shared sandbox into my course. When I go to edit the quiz to make modification it says that I can't edit certain questions because they are a "Banked item." Is there a way around this?

I am a special ed teacher and wanted to modify the teachers version of the test without having to completely recreate it.

@JillBryant,

You may want to ask the instructor to share the item bank with you so you can access all of these items.
