How do I copy a page to another course?

As an instructor, you can copy individual pages in one course directly into another course in which you are enrolled. You can also send pages to other instructors at your institution. When you copy a page, any assets within that page (images, files, etc.) will be included in your page copy.

Notes:

  • To share course content, you must have the Course Content - add / edit / delete permission enabled .
  • Shared content does not count against course or user quotas.
  • If you copy the same page to the same course more than once, the page you previously copied will be overwritten with the newly copied page.

what is the difference between copying and sending a page?  I don't understand why you would want to do one versus the other?

@michellemeazell

in order to copy content you must be enrolled in the course you're copying it to.  You can however 'send' content to other instructors and not have to enrolled in their courses.

How do I copy a page to multiple courses?

@Cbradley707,

With this option, you can only copy a page to a single course. You would need to follow the steps in this lesson for each course where you would like to send the page copy.

What if my course does not pop up in select a course.  It used to and now it doesn't give me the option even if I type it in.  What happened to  make that change?  I did back-up my course to my sand  box recently. Could that be the reason?

Hi @dlcordeiro,

That does sound strange. I know that you can only copy content to pages in which you're enrolled. Are you listed in the People page in both courses? If so and you're still not able to copy items to the course, I'd recommend reaching out to Canvas Support for further assistance. They can look at your specific Canvas instance and troubleshoot possible causes and solutions. For steps on reporting a problem, check out How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor?
