How do I export quiz content from a course?

Find your school's Canvas URL

To find your school or institution's Canvas URL, begin typing the name of your school/institution. Results will appear after you type at least 3 characters. For best results be as specific as possible. If you can't find your school, try using any part of your school's name or searching for your school district or state. You may also need to search for the school using the acronym or full name, for example "USU" and "Utah State University".

How do I export quiz content from a course?

If you need to export content from Classic Quizzes, you can export quiz content as a QTI ZIP file. Classic quizzes are exported as QTI 1.2 files.

Notes:

  • An exported quiz with questions linked to a question bank will not include an export of the question bank. The QTI file will only include questions from the question bank that have been added to the quiz. If you want to import the classic quiz into another course along with question banks, you may prefer to export your Canvas course and select quizzes and question banks in the course import.
  • You can use the QTI zip file to import quiz content between Canvas courses. If you unzip the QTI file, the files are in XML format.
